I had to buy it online and do an FFL transfer because I couldn't find the elite locally (so I could not test the trigger). I have never fired it. I am right handed. Field stripping, cleaning, and lubing will keep it top condition for a very long time. If you have 9 or 10 thousand rounds though it, it might be time to completely disassemble it.
