Oct 9, 2011 · The ECM (silver under hood) red wire has 12 volts on it, but the orange wire into the key switch only has 5.5 volts on it. I suspect the ECM has gone bad, but have no way to test it. When I short the starting solenoid, the ranger turns over with no issues. I hate to go and purchase a new ECM with no assurances that my problem is it.
