Both Magus and Summoner have Monk/Champion spellcasting progression. They become experts at 9th level, and masters at 17th level. Magus still uses the 4 spell slot system. Spells: Horizon Thunder is a decent alternative to Shocking Grasp. It's more versatile (although spell attack w/o spellstrike is going to hurt) and the damage is less swingy, but you lose the persistent damage against metal wearing enemies (I'm assuming the +1 doesn't matter, since your using the spellstrike role).For the visual description, think of a gouging claw actually forming on the projectile to slash at the enemy as it hits them, pretty cool image tbh.
