Old homelite chainsaw value.
Seven digit SN's were used up through 1971. That Homelite Technical Service Bulletin doesn't work for those older saws. With that serial number and the description, I'm guessing that the Super XL Auto in question was made around 1968, give or take a year. The C-5 should be 1964 or 1965. The saw in my avatar pic is a C-5.
I've seen many questions as to what paint to use to restore old Homelite saws. Well, I used Duplicolor paint and I bought it at Autozone. The choice I made was suggested by another Arb Site guy and it worked out well. The Duplicolor paint I used is an enamel and it worked great. O know ebay prices are higher in general but who do u listen to, forum ppl, ebay, or even a blue book value. It's a good runner and cutter btw. 610's around here go for $70 to $100. Macs are hard to sell though. At least ones in that 10-10 series. I've had a hard time getting $50 out of them.
