2002 ford f150: scanner..deleted two codes p0171 and p0174..sensors. hello, i have used an obd II scanner on my 2002 ford f150 and deleted two codes P0171 and p0174. ... It is a 1998 Ford F-150, 5.4L, 4X4 Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX [email protected] ...3.8 & 4.2L V6 - P0171 and P0174 - I'm at 51,000 miles in a 2003 4.2L F150 and my first check engine light came on. Ran by Autozone and got them to scan for codes. I have the P0171 and P0174, lean on both banks. The thing that gets me is the engine runs fine. No rough idle, cranks fine, holds mph and still has plenty...P0171 code engine knocking and rough. 2004 4.6l f150. Running rough at idle and not much better when driving. Knocking like a diesel which I am afraid is the dreaded cam phaser or cam roller. It is throwing code P0171 lean condition on bank 1. Changed all the plugs on driver side. Checked all coils and fuel injectors on driver side. Replaced Egr.Check this from the 90* to the other end. This is usually the cause of a P0171 code, but not the only. EGR leaks. Some times the diaphragm in EGR will be the cause of the problem. This is the flying saucer shaped dish on the driver's side of the engine. Exhaust leaks by the O2 sensors.
