After a rough couple of years, AQR Style Premia Alternative I (QSPIX) came back last year and then returned 30.64% this year in a very challenging environment for almost any other asset class and/or strategy. (More importantly, it has improved an overall portfolio.) Jul 1, 2022 ... But even the 10th best performer on the list, AQR Style Permia Alternative (QSPIX), is up more than 26% this year. And the best part ...About QSPIX. The investment seeks positive absolute returns. The fund pursues its investment objective by aiming to provide exposure to four separate investment styles ("Styles"): value, momentum... Value had a drawdown of 32% this year. And QSPIX is only like 40% value. Yet it's down 23% this year, and that doesn't even account for the other factors of QSPIX that did supposedly help QSPIX. If you regress QSPIX this past year, it has crazy negative alpha very recently. What I like is that it is a true zero beta product with positive expected return. I also have more faith in AQR who like DFA are essentially Fama-French disciples and quant jocks, than Stoneridge.
