I have a Standard edition Remington 11-48 that never came with recoil pad from factory. I was wondering if anyone with a 11-48 had ever put on a Limbsaver or Pachmayr recoil pad, and if so what was the model number of the pad? The Sportsman 11-48's had a stock pad but mine came with a regular plastic butt-plate.

When I first dissassembled it I used the instruction manual on the remington web site for the 1100/11-87. They are similar enough that you should have no problem figuring it out. Welcome to Shotgunworld!! I have several of each, and yes, the barrels are interchangable. The only difference between the 48 & 11-48 is that the 48 is a 3 shot and the 11-48 is a 5 shot. To further break the gun down, punch out the two pins that hold the trigger group in the gun. Remove the group, then slide the bolt forward out of the gun. Then remove the buttstock and I would remove the spring that returns the bolt. It may be very dirty and gummed up.Remington sportsman 48.
