Shilen barrel review.

I would like some info from guys that have a Proof Research barrel. I have the chambering down to two candidates. 6.5-06AI w. 140 HVLD or a .280AI w. 160-168 bullets. The rifle now is a .25-06AI pushing a 115 HVLD @ 3400 from a 28" Shilen #5. R700 LA BDL trued Shilen trigger @ 1.5#Don't forget to pay attention to the chamber. I agree that you should start with good barrel, but the chamber is equally as important. I bought a 10/22 Shilen barrel a couple of years ago and the chamber was long. They are on mid-eighties rifles. Less than half inch groups easy at 50 yds, using good SV ammo. At my age & eyes,I don't shoot as well as I use to. I think a younger fellow would have the ragged hole thing going on!
