Guys, I am looking for a correct date coded Holley 4088 for the GTE. I have been offered one with a late October 67 date code, and another with a late March 68 date code. The car is build date April 8 1968 Fortunately, when the original owner replaced the carb (The current carb on the car is a Holley 3310-2), they retained the original metal tag, which has a 7L8 (November 8, 1967) stamp. The 65-69 book seems to indicate that a 1910 date code could be either 1970 or 1980, while the 70-75 book indicates that it is 1980. I'm guessing that since the change from 3 digit codes to 4 digit codes came in 1973, this carb is most likely of 1980 manufacture, which agrees with what the seller told you.
