In lieu of the crawl starting tomorrow we decided to finally break down and tune the 2v and 4v groms. I've never done a "Proper" break-in according to the Owner's Manual ever. Vary the throttle position, but don't run prolonged WOT (Running Wide Open for hours at a time, usually.) for the first 600 or so miles and then change the engine and transmission oil. My bike idles at ~1800 RPM. Anything below ~1600 RPM i'd say won't hold very well. Make sure you adjust this when the bike is at operating temperature. Also i don't see how break in would change your bikes rpms. After 80 miles the bikes computer should have fuel and such adjusted enough where break in would no longer have any affect on rpms.
