It is a completely balanced amplifier. The MC252 is not a balanced amplifier. Every safety feature that the MC402, and MC501 amplifiers employ is in the MC352. I don't know who has been misdirecting you, but the MC352 gives up nothing, and sounds fabulous. In no way am I discrediting the MC252.

Mar 17, 2016 · Hello, I purchased a McIntosh MC302 power amp to drive my Focal 1028 speakers. Prior to this I was using the Accuphase E450 integrated amp which I am currently using as a preamp to drive the Mc. The Accuphase is rather at 180W x 2 at 8ohms and 260W at 4 ohms where as the Mc is rated at 300W at 8/4/2 as it is a transformer coupled design. My pre-amp is a VTL 2.5, so I get plenty of warmth. I really loved my MC252, but I thought I could try and save some money - I also move every few years and the 100lb amp is a pain. @gochurchgo - any recommendations on amps that 'thrive' at 4ohms that are affordable?
