My current Thaumaturge is a Human Beastkin (werewolf) who uses his Dire Form and a Gnome Flickmace (reskinned as an axe on a chain) Weapon Implement, a Chalice and the Mirror. Tldr, by level 20, after spending 7 actions total, he's dishing out 10d6 fire, 9d4 mental, 3d12 electric damage to adjacent enemies each round, save for half. The star domain and psychopomp spells are focus, so can use every fight.

I vaguely remember someone doing the math for Rogue vs Ranger vs Fighter vs Thaumaturge and I think the consensus was Thaumaturge edged out Fighter in very specific situations in total DPR, with Fighter being generally better.
