In the meantime they test and test and test to see if they can get it just right. 1.-Lots of padding at the top of the tailgate, highly unlikely your bike would damage/dent your tailgate.-the pad that your frame rests on is awesome, should do a great job protecting your bike frame.-Super easy to install, 2-3 minutes first time by myself. If you had help it could easily be done in less than a minute.This is where an official RIVIAN branded tailgate pad could really shine. It could use a piece of molded foam that accounts for this contour and perhaps even a plastic piece (maybe kydex?) over the foam (and behind the nylon cover of the pad) so pressure is evenly distributed to the tailgate rather than creating a pressure point on the body line.I don't begrudge Rivian this, but I'd rather they address other related issues, like being able to disable the auto-down tailgate when accessories are in the hitch receiver. And a way to avoid activating all the "features" of towing mode automatically when you plug anything (like a lighted hitch rack) into the trailer socket.
