Taper Street Pirus were a predominately African-American street gang on the westside of Compton during the early 1970s. Like many non-Crip neighborhoods during the early formation years, the Taper Street Pirus were pressured to become Crips and during the mid-1970s, they transformed from a Blood gang into the Tragniew Park Compton Crips.
