I wouldn't let salary guide your choice, however. Both specialties will give you more money than most other specialties with the chance to become partner in very lucrative practices. My experience as a student is that a lot of people have abstracts / posters from summer gigs, but very few have put in the considerable time and effort for a publication, let alone first author.I'm a CA-2 right now. Dr Marsh is still the PD, and does have equal weighting in interviews/selection as the other attendings who are involved. Dr Marsh does a ton of research, and administrative work. Dr Rusin is also very involved in selection. I'd say they prolly have about equal voices, but I don't know this for a fact.
