Check battery voltage, 12.7, check voltage at starter wire, disconnected, 12.6. Jumped starter and still same slow cranking.#1 · Nov 18, 2017. Have no spark in my JD318 with Onan B43G. I have exhausted all my ideas on locating problems. Actions so far have been. - Tested coil - showed bad - installed new one (thanks Boomer) along with new condenser and new battery - still no start.For machines (S.N. —475000), the (blk) ground wires for the PTO lamps, hour meter, and TDC module (2-pin connector) terminate at the right pedestal panel. It looks like your jumper to 12 volts is done correctly -- so if the other terminal of the coil is getting switched up and down it should provide spark. Of course the Battery was dead and he charged it, it cranks fine but no spark. The thought is that something burnt out, he was told Condensor, Coil or Ignition Module. Replaced the Condensor with no change. He checked the Voltage on both the Positive and Negative Coil terminals to ground.
