Also, I know ots your last resort but there is a thing called the "grip mod" where you add 1911 grip bushings and then you can use 1911 grips. Just google "22.45 grip mod" and you will get lots of step by step guides. You could also try to trade it in at the local gun shop and pick up the replacable grip model.
